EVENT | MARQUES ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2026

From 22 to 25 September 2026, Lisbon will host the 40th MARQUES Annual Conference, one of the leading international events for Intellectual Property Attorneys.

This year’s theme, “The Exciting Evolution of Trademarks”, will focus on the evolution of trademarks and the new ways in which businesses are using brands and other Intellectual Property assets to create value and strengthen consumer trust.

Stefania Pareschi, Trademark and Design Attorney and Legal Senior Associate at Mondial Marchi, will represent our team and join IP professionals from many different countries for four days of discussion, knowledge sharing and professional development.

The programme will explore some of the key developments currently shaping the protection and enhancement of trademarks and other IP assets. Topics will include innovative strategies for unlocking the value of Intellectual Property, the fine line between fame and genericism, the role of regulation, and the intersection of geographical indications, trademarks and international trade.

Particular attention will also be given to some of the most topical challenges facing IP professionals today, from Artificial Intelligence and anti-counterfeiting to unconventional trademarks, domain names and the latest EU design developments. The Conference will also feature updates from EUIPO and the annual review of recent European case law.

The programme reflects the constantly evolving nature of Intellectual Property and highlights the importance of international dialogue in anticipating change and supporting businesses in protecting and enhancing the value of their IP assets.
